About submitting of $150 deposit to reserve your puppy
from the upcoming litters -

Different ones have asked how to reserve a puppy from the upcoming litters. It's important that you email or call us right away, before mailing in your deposit, so that your place in line will be held immediately. In that email or during that phone conversation, please tell us if you're looking for a male or female, and what litter you're particularly interested in, if any. We also need your name, address, phone number and your nearest major airport if you puppy is flying to you. This will enable me to do my job on this end. Thank you. :o)
Then we ask that you mail either a personal check or money order/cashier's check for the $150 deposit. It needs to be made out to me...Evelyn Smith, and be mailed to me at P. O. Box 39, Beaver City, NE 68926. If you are sending it overnight and needing a physical address, it is 520 Seventh Street, Beaver City, NE 68926.
Reason for Payment Acceptance Change
in regards to PayPal/credit card payments -
We had been receiving credit card payments and funds through our customers' PayPal funds, but have decided not to continue to do that. Here is the reason. We have had awful stress in dealing with PayPal. We've lost money and so have our previous customers. When PayPal removes funds from an account, even if it's proven that they made a mistake, they continue to hold the money on and on. We've been forced to go through the Better Business Bureau and even through the NE State Attorney General's Office, in order to get PayPal to release the funds. They will claim that they have, and yet the credit is never reflected in our PayPal balance! So there are times that you never get the money back at all. Then other times you do, but it's a long hassle. It's so frustrating when they have even admitted that it's their mistake but "according to PayPal policy, we will continue to hold your funds for up to 75 days." Bad deal when it means pulling money out of our bank account and running the risk of things bouncing when it's truly to be our money, free and clear! As mentioned above, sometimes in the end, you simply do not get it back. When this happens, we lose hundreds of dollars with one whack. It's happened at least 4 times now, and we've decided we simply can not continue to deal with it. All of the process of submitting this evidence and that evidence, while in vain our customer is trying to get PayPal to give us the money that they have taken from them, is wasted time and nervous energy! It's simply not right and I've read and heard of others' experiences and claims that PayPal is fraudulent in the way they do. It would look that way from what our experience has been. We've also had customers and other family members who have lost money with PayPal and never gotten it back.
To minimize our loss and our stress, we now ask that all payments(checks, money orders or cashier checks) be mailed to us at the above name and address. It's simply better and more secure. I will happily mail, email or fax detailed receipts to anyone who desires them, when making a payment through the mail. Just request that you receive it. That is no problem. As you know, the receipts will stand in court, so you are truly protected. If you have more questions regarding this, just ask.

The Purpose of The Above Portion of This Page
This page is to give information to those that we receive calls and emails from on a daily basis, that want an idea of when particular litters are expected. Also, they may be requesting to know how many litters are on the way, so as to know how long they may wait for their puppy. We want to make sure that it is understood that these due dates and expected times are according to what we have judged of their cycles, and behavior, and cannot be seen as an absolute guarantee. Sometimes though the breeding has taken place a female will not be bred for whatever the reason. In a case like that, we ask for your understanding when a female we thought to be expecting ends up not having a litter afterall.
We do not take our females in for sonograms. As the saying goes "Time will tell!" in just the next few weeks we see the certainty of how it is in fact! The females have a 9 week gestation period, and it's the last tri-mester when they really fill out rapidly. Sometimes we can tell a week or two before that, but you can see how it's getting on up in their pregnancy before we can be certain. We do not desire to raise your hopes for puppies from a particular mommy, just to find out that she wasn't even pregnant! Just understand that this page shows what it looks like from our side at this point, and we will update as we see changes.
We do not list females as expecting unless we have real reason to think she is. With those that we are in doubt about, we purposefully do not list them until further on. For that reason, there are mothers that will be added in closer to their due dates.
Also, it's good to realize that there is such a thing as a false pregnancy with a dog. Many do not know that. I have seen a mother get bigger, come to her milk, and go through 36 hrs. of labor. We finally consulted with the vet. False labor was the only reason she had all of this happen to her. Poor girl! This is very rare. I've only seen it a couple of times, but it does happen sometimes.
As mentioned above, at times though the breeding takes place a female may not
get pregnant. I see it as their body choosing a resting time for them for some unknown reason to us.
I thank you for reading this as to understand that this is as close of a prediction as we have right now. As time goes, sometimes we find out that we were not correct, but more times we are correct. (Since Coccidiosis is a major threat to all young puppies, we give this as a preventative against that. It knocks down the growth of coccidia in the intestine, when it would tend to go to too high of a level. [A certain amount of coccidia is normal.] When that happens, it causes the bacterial infection called Coccidiosis.)
*Vanguard Plus Five includes all of the Following Immuizations :
1. Canine Distemper
2. Adenovirus Type 2
3. Parainfluenza
4. Parvovirus
5. Modified Live Virus
NOTE : Read important information below as to why you will be the one to see that your puppy gets it's second puppy shot. Also, particulars about the worming your puppy will receive before leaving here.
Due to the advice of two different, non-related veterinarians, we will no longer be giving the 2nd puppy shot before the puppies leave here. They do well with the first shot, and then we have had cases of which the second puppy shot makes them very ill. When this happens, it's a tremendous fight to save them, if one even succeeds. We have had autopsies done and consulted with two different veterinarians from two different states, and they both give us the same story. According to the lab findings there is no disease, no virus, no bacteria, no parasites(worms). There is no reason for the puppy's death except for stress. All of the following cause stress.....weaning, any shots, wormings, and leaving to go to a different home. We are alleviating the puppy of one of these stressers by making the responsibility of the second puppy shot, the new puppy owner's. This is what we recommend.
After getting your puppy, give the puppy a minimum of 7 days, but not over 14 days to adjust to his new home with you. Then at that time that you feel he has settled into your home life adequately, take him in to the vet for his second puppy shot. It is important that he receive this second shot as it's the booster and the puppy will not be completely protected without it. Thank you.
Secondly, we will be only giving Pyrantel as a wormer at 8 weeks, when we used to do Safeguard for 5 days again at 8 weeks and not just at 6 weeks. According to the findings, the puppies we lost were stressed and this happened more than once when the puppy was in Day 2 or 3 of that 2nd course of Safeguard. Pyrantel is more mild and since worming is important and shouldn't be skipped, we will be doing Pyrantel at 8 weeks of age.
The reason we did the 2nd course of Safeguard was because Safeguard not only is a good wormer, but also clears out the possibility of the puppy getting Giardia. Giardia is very common and again, hoping to cover all of the bases, we were doing the second course of 5 days of Safeguard to eliminate that risk. We will no longer do so. We would rather treat an occasional puppy for Giardia rather than lose puppies. I'm sure that you would agree with that philosophy.

Dew Claw Removal
Unless we have a special request from you, our regular schedule is to remove all dew claws at 3 days of age. Also, tails are docked at that same time for the breeds that contain yorkie, poodle or bichon. Thank you.
